Your musing led me back to memories of the many animals and birds that have been with our family. My folks had a parakeet in their retirement years and it learned many words. It even would say "Preposterous birds can't talk" sounding just like my grandmother. I'll probably read your posting time & time again, it is good. Gail

Hi Fred,
I'm more of a cat person than a bird or dog person, but loved this story and photos, especially the one of Barbara eating with a real spoon! Now how endearing is that? It amused the heck out of me!
