I loved this! Sounds just like a couple of little guys out having fun...looking for trouble, and finding it!!

Sounds like you and your brother had imaginations to spare. Good descriptive story material. How about a follow-up story about their teen years? Gail

This brings back some fond memories. I didn't have a brother, but I did have a cousin a little older than I. I remember the skinny dipping in the creek, the rough and tumble with a football, and out hunting with the .22. The .22 hornet, .222, and .223 (M-16 round) are all almost identical. A potent flat trajectory high velocity round for sure.

When in high school I wore a pair of cowboy boots all the time. They were the most comfortable footwear I ever owned. They were lost when the house burned in my senior year.

Great story. My brother didn’t have a brother, he was stuck with a sister, me. Still, we had fun. My seasonal memories are similar to yours with one exception…autumn was the time for stealing some of the produce from Dad’s treasured pumpkin patch. Halloween pumpkins, therein lies the makings of an OurEcho story. Thanks for the reminder. BJ
