Oh Wanda - you're splendid use of many words I've never heard of, is great fun as I read the first two chapters. I sat back and giggled over all these characters of the 30's with a few recollections of my own. To be honest, I figured that life in a "teacherage" was going to be a bore, but not so. You're making it great fun and already I empathize with your jovial redhead. Kathe

Growing up, I loved to cook, Sandy didn't care to cook, and we both loathed doing dishes. Dad decreed that if Randy did the cooking, Sandy could do the dishes! She was always so frustrated with "he can dirty every dish and pot and pan in the house!" I thought she was just being lazy and a poor sport. Years later I caught myself cleaning up after myself and thinking "how did I manage to dirty every dish and pot and pan?" I then had to chuckle that perhaps Sandy was right.....I always had made such a mess. It wasn't long after that I learned to do dishes "along the way" as I could to not have such a mess afterwards. Don't tell Sandy this, but you know what? Sandy was right!:)
