An amazing story of love and devotion. Even death can not break the bonds we form with our pets, it lasts for always.

A story that needed writing and you have done it well. Our 'little cat' has been gone for years but she still jumps on the foot of the bed & over our feet if we are late waking up. Gail

I can still hear my beloved dogs and kitties. long gone, barking and meowing. I've lept from my chair more than once on a mad search, so disappointed, of course. They come and talk to me often and like a silly
old fool, I tell them we'll all be together again one of these days. I believe it with all my heart........Kath

A very touching story, Fred. Our pets do indeed enrich our lives, and on occasion, save us from harm or even discredit. Thanks for sharing this with us. Carol

Great story! Thanks for sharing your love of a very faithful friend. Having your pet die as he rested may have been a shock but having to put them to sleep is heart-breaking.

Goodness, but you have been one busy man during your lifetime! We have something in common because the first thing I ever wrote I also sent to Petwarmers, and they published it that very same night...it does thrill and inspire you, huh? Yes, one day we'll meet up with all of our beloved pets at Rainbow Bridge - what a joyous time it will be. Meanwhile, my beloved Josey continues to leaves pennies for me as a reminder that she's never far away...

What a great story, Fred! I, too, believe that your pup Freckles "saved the day/night for you". I manage to find a good story among your entries every time I click on your name. Thanks! ~ Susan
