What a wonderful way to remember my daughter! I'm sure she was with you every time as she was with me yesterday as I showed 4 youths walking by with insect nets, where the lady bugs were working my patio flowers for a meal of aphids. She was smiling along with them. Thanks, Gail

Carol, these heartfelt words you have spoken here will resound for future generations to hear and cherish.
Hearts can speak to each other with their own loving voice, and we can hear them if we can just Be Still and Listen... Tom

Carol--you brought us into your reverie, set a mood, and left us all with a definite message. A message of hope and comfort. Beautifully done, and the pictures enhance your lovely prose.

Beautiful , beautiful, beautiful musings. Carol, the "pink and pearl" sky caught my eye immediately. Your reference to Shannon is precious...one who was and still is greatly loved.
God bless you and yours ~ Susan

Beautifully written. Touching. Sounds like the voice of healing. I've heard it, too. Thanks for sharing. The pictures are beautiful. All in all, this is a very comforting piece--or should I say, "peace." Janet

Hi Carol,
This is a beautiful, fitting tribute to your niece and a former Our Echo writer. I've read some of Shannon's stories, so was saddened to read of her death only a few months after I first heard of Our Echo. She was evidently a very talented lady and well-read, too. I know your remembrance means so much to Gail and Clyde, because she told me so in an e-mail recently.
You took some great photos to enhance what you shared here.
Blessings,
Sandi in FL.

Hi again, Carol,
I was looking to see and re-read what Shannon had posted here at Our Echo, but now I'm perplexed, because it was poetry, not stories by her which I'd read quite some time back. But I also recall seeing a photo or two of her here, as well as learning that she loved books and cats, or did I dream all that?!
Maybe I'm just getting old or had a junior moment!
Shannon was someone I would have enjoyed knowing.
Sincerely,
Sandi in FL.

Thanks for your kind words, Sandi. One of Shannon's sisters posted an entry titled "Shannon's Poems," which is probably the poems you're thinking of. Just type Shannon Hyle into the search box on the home page, and everything written by or about Shannon will come up. Carol

CJ - I don't know how I missed this when you first posted it. I always look for your name in the new posts. Lovely, lovely, lovely... the thoughts, the photos, and the memories it evokes. What a wonderful tribute to Shannon and to nature which she loved.

All these lovely comments have touched my heart, just as your musings touched it just a month ago today. Shannon always loved the summertime. Gail

With all my computer problems this past year, I had missed seeing this, so thanks for posting the link on Diana's facebook. Shannon is in my thoughts every day. I miss her SO much. And I still have tears in my eyes from reading this. Thanks.

Thank you for sharing this. As my daughter's name is Shannon also, it really touched my heart. From reading the other comments, I know your Shannon was dearly loved and dearly missed. Next time I am by the bay, I will say "hi" to your Shannon. Helon
