Now I wish I'd known Jack too. What a wonderful tribute to a home-town hero. Nicely tied in with present-day patriotism.

I wish I had known this WWll Flying Ace, too! Those who did were better for having had him in their lives, albeit a brief life span.
Thank you for sharing this story of a true hero.
Blessings,
Sandi in FL.

I was thrilled to read about my uncle Jack. He was my father's brother and boy was my dad ever so proud of his brother and therefore made us his neices and nephews and now my children so very proud of our uncle Jack and now to see that other's know how wonderful he was. Flying must be instilled from my dad talking so much about Jack because now my son is learning to become a pilot and is an Army Reserve MP. So thank you so much for this wonderful article. Good story. I'm glad I read it or I would have never known about Jack. Have you ever tried to submitting it as a local article for around Memorial Day?
