Hello,
Really enjoyed your story especially your thoughts on Snoopy. And then on a more serious note, the thought struck me that after a lifetime of striving and accumulating,, at times like these the things we hold most dear fit in a purse !

Hey Sooz and Sabina, I appreciate your taking the time to read this and adding your comments. After a year's hiatus, maybe I can put some more stories down on paper, rather on computer!
;) Thanks ~ Susan

Loved your cute story and look forward to the next one. I sent it to Bill, he always reads Snoopy and tells me I remind him of Lucy and he is Peanuts. I believe I'll go have a tomato sandwich with chips for dinner...sounds delicious!
Love,
Cynthia

Hi Susan,
Great description. Loved the comparison to Snoopy. There was a time when a tornado wasn't scary to me, no more. I'm glad you made it through. BJ

Susan, this was good writing! I thought about you that night as I had kept tuned to the TV radar screen showing you were also having the same storms. Little did I know you were huddled in your "little" office. Me, I sat on the "throne" with a book and flashlight
as that is the safest place away from windows, etc. Glad you are writing again
I love your stories!! Kinzies

Hi Susan dear,
Finally you posted this story! Obviously I'm relieved that it has a happy ending with no tornado hitting down near your home. Reading the other readers' comments made me smile, and I'm adding my two cents' worth to remind you that you should not wait such a long time to pen and post more of your musings. I savor your use of visual details, right down to the slicing of the ripe, juicy tomato for that sandwich, since I know you well enough to know it's one of your favorite light suppers! And, next time I read Peanuts in the comics section, for certain I'll think about you when Snoopy is at the typewriter!
ILY,
Sandi/Bambini.

Good descriptive saga well done as usual, Susan, although I'd have almost been more leary over the tomato scare! After hearing of the record number of tornados and seeing the awful flooding I'm beginning to feel foolish griping about Montana's big June snowstorm. Keep the good works coming....Kathe

Hello Susan,

Weather stories are effective in bringing a reader to a certain place to experience emotions. I could see and hear the scenes as they unfolded. I was right there with you having the tomato sandwich and chips. I've missed your writings and am delighted to see you in the lineup again. Veronica

Having gone through the same scenario last week on Wednesday night, I can empathize with you. It's a scary situation. But our tornado did hit our town, in three separate areas, although not ours. We are still feeling blessed to have come through all right when 45 houses were destroyed and 67 more badly damaged, plus a few businesses and millions of dollars of damage on our university campus. Such power is almost beyond comprehension.

Dear Cynthia, BJ, Kinzies, Sandi, Kathe, Mattie, Veronica and Nancy -- how much do I appreciate this cheering section from all parts of our country? Waaaaaaaay much! That you've posted comments about my story sure makes me happy today...wish I could serve a fresh tomato sandwich to each of you sitting around my dining table! Seriously, scary moments in our lives such as tornados and flooding are not welcomed, but they sure do reveal what we do hold most dear: our lives and our loved ones. Nancy, I cannot fathom the damages you've experienced in your area due to the floods. I pray you keep safe.
God bless you all ~ Susan
