Bravo Bravo, Nancy. Well done as always. Have you sent your wonderful mining fiction piece, debuted on OurEcho last year, somewhere to regale the younger set? You needn't answer for sure as shootin' you're going to make the big announcement one of these days. Kathe

So true, Nancy
I belong to a group that meets the 2nd and 4th Thursday of the month.

I struggled with the last story I wrote
and posted in here.
The ending just didn't work. On Thursday I read it to my group. They saw the problem. It was clear once they pointed
it out.

I haven't been in an online group in sometime.
They always seem to become more chatroom than support groups.

Online groups come in more than one category. I happened to find one that is really good. Sorry Michael, but it's for women only. Writers must apply and be voted in (or out) so it keeps it a good group of serious writers.

Thanks Nancy for writing about your writing group and making it so interesting at the same time. You really have to have faith in your fellow writers to take their criticism. I'm sure you will lead the way for others to write about their groups. Gail

Interest piece of work, Nancy, and great that you have derived so much from your writing groups over the years. Obviously it has worked to your advantage, considering how far you have come in your writing. Who knew you would be reading your stories on local television! Today, the media, tomorrow -- a made-for-TV movie!

I've tried to locate a writer's group in this tiny part of the world, no luck. The only one I found is connected to the university and you must be a student. I'm thinking of starting one myself. I know there are several writers in the area, even though it is a small community. If that isn't possible, I'll look into online. I enjoyed the post, as always. BJ

Don't give up BJ. It takes some doing to get a group going, but some of the online groups are good, too.

It only takes a few good people interested in writing to start a club. It is the combined interest in writing that makes a success of a writing club. So call a writing friend and get started. Wishing you the best, Gail

Hi Nancy,
I read with great interest about your first writers' group and the various backgrounds/careers of each member. Of course the common denominator which brought y'all together was the love of expressing oneself in written words, and obviously it's also the glue that binds such groups together, even when one person such as yourself moves many miles away.
The local senior center in my city hosts a weekly writers' group meeting, and at the end of each year they print, bind and sell the stories to an eager community of readers.
Blessings,
Sandi in FL.
