Penelope - welcome to Our Echo. Your poem is quite thought provoking on a topic that resonates with most women. I look forward to more postings from you.

I can't begin to tell how many times I've been caught short doing or saying something like my mother did and feeling frustrated by it. I read another poem--just a bit ago--we all have choices, but sometimes, we are compelled by a force greater than choice--or so it seems. This is quite a poem. Thanks for sharing. Janet
