Everyone should write their pet stories. Yours show so much love between pets and people. Gail

None ever takes the place of another. They can only make their own place in your heart. I know for I have had many of them in my life time. Each has its own traits and personality, and each is loved for themselves, never as a replacement.

Kristy, this is a great tribute to Shultzie. I think you need to enter some of the photos in a photo contest. They show a lot of personality.

I dug these out from another source - I took most of the photos of Shultzie with film. So, when I discovered the online contests, I didn't have easy access to these photos. Now, that I have them digital, I will check out that contest again. :)

Pets do add joy to our lives & losing them hurts a lot. After Trooper died it took awhile before I talked Larry into letting me get another dog; then to realize Waldo likes him better than me. Thanks for sharing your story!

What a wonderful story of the love shared by you and Shultzie. I still miss every pet that was ever in my life and is now gone. Each one was a special friend.

Thank you for sharing. I just lost my beloved 15 yr old cocker spaniel Bailey. She's been through 3 houses, 2 pregnancies, a brain injury and countless other meaningful and mundane experiences. I need to record my feelings and experience with her. I applaud you for doing so. And, please have someone take a photo of you and your "new" baby.

I understand what you must be feeling. My mom was the person who reminded me to write down the stories about my pet to help me remember her and to ease the grieving.
