You have indicated this piece to be fiction, but the scenario displayed occurs in reality many times over, throughout the country. It has always been my desire that when my time comes it be at home. I do not want to be in a nursing home or hospice.

My father died in 2005. We refused hospice. Dad died in his sleep in a nursing home, quite different from most. It was a very nice place, with a staff that really cared for the patients. I miss him. Very touching story, Jim, but I can't say as I thank you for those memories. I did like the story though. David
