Women touching a body at a funeral? I guess I've never seen that done, and it would never occur to me to do it. I'm with you, that's not a memory I want to be left with. Rather to remember that person as a warm, loving being. A thought provoking poem, Jim.

This poem brings back memories of my childhood. Well written, too. I'm not one for touching much. When I was 8, my grand-mother passed. My father insisted I kiss her good-bye. When I refused, he argued, "She just feels cold. Go ahead, kiss her." I cried and ran away from the casket. I'm not sure why people do the things they do, but you make an interesting point. Janet
