I loved the memories you have of your mother's apron! Especially using it to carry the baby kittens. How could such a handy item become a thing of the past?

Hi cousin, Melba Lu, from Oregron! I keep waiting to see you post something but enough is enough. Words like yours is what keeps us writers writing. Thanks is such a small word and doesn't even start to express my feelings.

Gail, a lovely memory of mother's apron. I do remember my mother and her apron and wish I had some just like them! What a shame we don't use them anymore. It is good to be in touch with you again.

Hey Grandma Gail I will never let this story of your mother slip from my own memory. This story is the only thing to know that she existed since she died before I was born and I never knew her.

Hi Gail,
I so enjoyed your entries. Lucky us, you are putting them out there and not just writing for yourself! Your family is so lucky to have these, what a treasure.
I just retired and am writing more. I found this site the other day and tried it as a lark. So glad I did.
Keep writing, Toni

I'm so glad you added the voice with this writing. It really enhances it to hear the author's own voice reading their words.

Gail,

It was wonderful to hear you read your story. It felt like we were sitting across from one another and you were telling me all about your mother's aprons. You did a very nice job on this. Hope to hear more as time goes on.

This will make another great program for the FCE group. Can't wait to show you the old aprons I brought for you at the estate sale.

Hi Gail,
How nice to have your sweet voice to connect to your name and photo! Kudos on this well-composed winner of a story. Reading about your Mother and her aprons reminded me that in 8th grade Home Economics class, our first sewing project was to make an apron. Choosing the material was such fun. My Mother went with me to the fabric department of the local "dime store" where I picked out a strawberry print on a green and white background. Oh, how I wish I still had that apron!
Blessings,
Sandi in FL.

Kudos and thankyou so very much for this delightful memory of your mother's apron. Have saved your voice recording so I can listen to it as often as I want. It brought back memories of the versatility my own mother's saree pallu.. While I smiled, it also brought tears to my eyes. - Sabina Benjamin Thomas.
