Dear Bonnie,
As always I loved your story and can relate in ways I had forgotten about. I am proud to say I'm a quitter of the puff,however, I still enjoy a good party.(o;

I really like the "we get too soon old and too late smart!!" How true. unfortunately...lol.

Happy New Year dear lady. All the best to you and yours.

Gratefully sent with much love and admiration.

Nikki

I too was a light smoker back in my late 20's and early 30's but I too hate cigarette smoke now. It seemed like all of our friends and also my husband smoked too. He finally did stop about 15 yrs. ago and I am so happy that he did. Our children nor their spouses smoke thank goodness. We live in a part of the country that grew a lot of tobacco so therefore smoking was a big thing. Funny thing , I grew up in a family that did not smoke and married into a family that almost every one smoked. That influenced me and I had to try it!!!!! sorry to say!!!! I am thankful that the addiction did not win. Shutterbug

I smoked all through college but when I started dating the man who is now my husband, he made it clear he didn't like it. It was a good incentive to quit, and I'm so glad I did. I've seen too many smokers end up with cruel diseases caused by their habit. The state of Illinois passed a law that took effect today which bans smoking in all public places. Even the pubs in Ireland have banned smoking. We need more

I quit smoking in highschool several times for sports, only to resume as soon as the season was over. Finally, more than 23 years ago, I quit and have never started again. Three years after I quit, I told my wife that kissing her was like kissing a dirty ash tray and then she quit. Now it bothers us when we see others smoking.
As for New years resolutions, I never made one. I don't believe in them.
