Thanks for writing the story. As a former cop I know that police officers perform many such acts, but the people only hear about the occasional bad thing that happens. The good things are rarely, if ever publicized.

This is such a sad story but with a happy ending because of your very kind hearted husband. It's no wonder you fell in love with this man. Merry Christmas,

Absolutely marvelous story. Your husband is a shining example of the true meaning of Christmas....giving from the heart.
What a wonderful tribute to those who wear the "scarlets", all because of the caring actions of your husband and his partner.
Now this is part of what Christmas is all about.

Lovely story, Bonnie. I'm sure God was smiling as you and your husband created a Christmas for those two little ones.

You told this so beautifully, as always. I'd surely give a nickel for all the Xmas and New Year's eves my Ken had to view broken bodies and vehicles after drunk driving wrecks. Insurance adjusters sometimes missed the eve of our Christ child's birth due to the misbegottens of this world. Sad but true for all those precious keepers of holiday flames. God bless them all...Kathe

Oh, Bonnie! What a lovely story - well, actually the ending was lovely. Bless you both for providing Christmas for those two little kids.
