I liked this story very much, Jim, and also found it very funny. You paint such a great picture of them in bathrobe and slippers and how they cured you of being late. Do you think this approach would work in Mexico? Zofia

No, I don't think it would work in Mexico, Zofia. Some things are far too ingrained to change, I'm afraid. Glad you enjoyed the humor in this. Boys at that age are just so full of insecurity and doubt that they are perfect foils for humor.

Great story, Great lesson learned, Great message for others. I'd like to see it in a teen-age magazine.

Thank you, Nancy. I hadn't considered that but I'll find out more.

Now that was a tough lesson to learn, but it worked.
I could feel your embarrassment

Thanks, Mike. It was tough but worthwhile. The story didn't disclose that the Watsons lost their own son about one year before in a tragic accident. They were focused on teaching other young men how to handle life.

An enjoyable, well-written, well-told story with a very good point.

Thank you, Jim. I thoroughly enjoyed writing the story and remembering that day. The story doesn't include the fact that the couple had lost their own son a year before in a tragic accident. They really were intent on guiding young folks after that.
