Thanks, Sandi, for your nice comment on this story. It was a fun story to write. It was a challenge assignment in a writer's group. We were given the line about the chicken being on the porch, and we were to make up a story from that. Some wild stories came from the prompt in that group. Interesting that you also notice my comments to other writers postings. I think writers need the encouragment and recognition of their work, so I try to comment on ones I like and see merit in.
