I thought berkins must be some Canadian term I hadn't heard of. Too funny. Beautifully written as usual. Thanks for the laugh! BJ

I've seen this one before, Kath, but enjoyed it again.

The first time I saw this story I was beside myself, wondering what in the world was a "one eyed berkin?" This time I enjoyed laughing at what I already knew was coming, but it was so good and so funny I read it over again.

Ah yes, Berkins. My old (long ago) boyfriend's father told me of them when I was in my 20's...he and I and the BF were coming home one night and he pointed them out to me, they were more plentiful in the 70's... I was so embarrassed!

Cute story.

Kathe, what a perfect place to spend Thanksgiving, out in nature. You describe it so well that I felt I was there. You have a 'neat' family. What are 'somores'? Zofia

Hi Zofia. Somores are a common campfire treat. A square or two of Hershey's chocolate and a roasted marshmallow (some like to singe them until they're gooey) squished between two graham crackers sandwich style. Called somores because campers always want some more. Ummm!!! K

Thank you,
I've always felt bad about leaving them berkins out there.
