And the sad part is that one of the young boys, who was 15 at the time, was a little boy I had given a Guinea Pig to and taught him how to care for it. They hit at random and destroyed so much.More than they will ever know. Thank you for your remarks.

OMG>> that was terrible so sensless.... you are both ok.. that was my #1 concern.. unfortunately the vandals get only a slap on the wrist... living in a lage city here there are so many home invasions.. drunk drivers who have no remorse.. shocking shocking.. vandals will continue because they know the penalty is a joke... they smile and go on to the next victim....etc etc.

We live in an age when people are not made to suffer consequences for their misdeeds and of excuses and political correctness. Unless and until that changes it is and will continue to be for society. When I was a young lad, I knew there were going to be severe consequences from my father if I ever did something like that and I feared them far more than the law. It isn't like that anymore. I believe it should be.

At the very least, those vandals should have been required to repair the damage they were responsible for. There must be consequences for such an act, otherwise those boys will merely laugh their way to the next act of vandalism. BJ

Thankfully, we have not had to endure the terrible feeling of having someone break into or damage our home. Our home is our special place to feel completely safe and secure and to feel the freedom to be ourselves and express ourselves in the way we decorate.Having someone come in and take our possesions or damage things is as if they have actually stolen or damaged a part of us.This is something that I would suppose would always be with us from that day forward. It is a very serious thing and I hope and pray that it doesn't happen to us .Glad to know that no one was physically injured in your brush with those young vandals and I hope that those young persons learned a lessons that is sticking with them to this day.

They showed no remorse whatsoever, and it was later found that they had hit three or four times in different parking lots that week, in the middle of the night, and slashed tires, in one place up to $10,000 worth in one night. I could not feel the same about our special home after that. Now we have retired and have built a new home. May God keep this one safe from such misery.
Thank you for your remarks,
Bonnie.
