I smiled all the way through this, Kathy. It sounded exactly like my own recipes and thoughts, as well. A couple months ago, my brother sent me my Mother's recipe box, which he'd found recently. Mom died almost 3 years ago, and I always wondered what happened to that little tin box. What a thrill it was to hold it, then spend an entire afternoon going through it. Seeing her handwriting and reading the funny little comments she'd put on some of the card was so heartwarming, also seeing the names of people our family has known for many decades. Each recipe seemed to trigger a memory of some sort. I keep meaning to write an essay about it but haven't gotten to it. Too many stories and not enough hours in the day. Also wanted to comment about your comment on my pie-making story. My mother also made the cinnamon-sugar pie crust with the leftover dough. Soooo good!

awww, Kathy, aren't you going to add the recipe at the end for us? We'd love to try your mother's recipe. How about a snapshot of the recipe card too or of your jumble of recipes.

Well, just call me stupid! Why didn't I post the recipe? I do believe I'll do that now - for some reason it just didn't dawn on me. Thank for the suggestion. :-)
