Deer will come right to a house and feed on shrubs, roses and they especially like honeysuckle flowers. We have found they are not to crazy about Mock Orange blossoms as they don't bother them.

What a delightful introspective Virginia. I used to work for a "Mossing Company" when I was young for about 10 years; hence my poem, "I was a Mosser". We worked with Sheet Moss (mostly what you were speaking about in your write), Sphagnum Moss and Spanish Moss (grows mainly in Florida). As I read your write it brought back a lot of memories and your color depiction is oh so true....Such beautiful greens, browns, tans and ecrus. I've even seen purples and oranges!

I very much enjoyed reading about your Moss garden. Thank you Virginia for sharing it.

An interesting post. You made me look at moss in a totally new light. Thanks.

A delightful essay on your new hobby! I was hoping some of your moss photos were included here--they are spectacular. Maybe just one? Carol

The website kept choking on them, so finally I added the links at the end. That's not very convenient for people though and I would have preferred having the photos right in the posting.

Take a look again, CJ. I finally figured out how to downsize the photos so they would work on Our Echo. Thanks for asking.

Shannon would have liked to play with her 'little people' in your moss gardens. As a child she played make- believe with sticks, stones, acorns and stuff like that.

Loved the story, and also really loved the pictures. The close ups are
incredible! Your moss garden looks amazing. Interestingly enough, I
worked briefly on adding to my moss garden today and also want to share an interesting article with you. I will send it when I have a chance.
