How could anyone not have compassion for that poor dog? We need more people like Tammy to turn our country around. When we see something that is wrong, or when we see someone needs help we must be like the Good Samaritan and show mercy. God bless Tammy and all people who show mercy. We`re with you Tammy. Tammy Grimes is right in caring about and defending the dog. She is right that both the Humane Society and the police did not do their job. The owners of the dog should be prosecuted and if they are not, the prosecutor is not doing his job. All of that being said, one can not go around stealing another persons animal, no matter what the reason. When that becomes allowable, the result will be anarchy. People will steal any animal the care of which does not agree with their particular philosophy. Next it will be the theft of some other persons child because they don't care for or treat that child the way you want it to be done. Then, it will be stealing your car because they don't think you wash it often enough and so on. It can not be tolerated by a civilised society, no matter how just the motive. Humane Sociey and Law Enforcement need to have the state Attorney Generals office conduct a complete investigation as to why they did not respond to three days of complaints in this issue, and perhaps some of them need to be prosecuted also, including the prosecutor himself or herself, whichever the case may be. There is no place in civilized society for the populace or for the authorities to disregard the law and run amock. There is no place for inhumanity either. One hopes the judge in the case will excersize both the law and true justice. It will depend on the judge and not the prosecutor, the final disposition in the case.

Sorry Fred - Both ladies respected
the rights of ownership. They only
intervened when the police and the humane society didn't. I applaud them.
Don't worry - there are few people who
have their courage to help whether it
be an abused animal or child. I have nothing but great respect for Tammuy and her ilk. Your thoughts are extraneous to the case at hand and lend no new light in my opinion.

Sorry Fred I don't agree with you. I am on Tammy's side and I do believe she did what was morally right. Sadly, the laws are not enforced as they should be. I myself could not stand by and watch and do nothing. I know someon else who feels like Tammy Grimes who witnessed a dog being brutally beaten. He would not stop when told too, so the young lady lady jumped over the fence and lit into the guy herself. She was arrested for assault but I say good for her. Sometimes we have to take a stand for something or someone less fortunate.

What is the world coming to when a person cannot intervene in cases of abuse or neglect in order to save a life without breaking the law. Fred, have you ever heard "evil flourishes when good men do nothing". It is a well known fact that people who abuse or neglect animals have a propensity to do the same to humans as well, usually children because they are also defenseless. I myself, upon seeing an animal or child in danger or grossly neglected would act immediately to find a safe haven. How is this considered stealing? I would not wait for our justice system to take action which could result in a death. I would act as Tammy did and defend myself later. We can take some comfort in knowing that God knows the intentions of our hearts, even when the judicial system appears to be totally blind. He sees and doesn't forget.
