I think you are on the right track but disagree that Congress make a new law. I think there are to many laws that are not enforced already. I think the answer is for the people to get fed up and to turn off the switch. The people also need to let the sponors know they won't put up with it anymore. It is all about money and when people vote with their wallet, the media and the sponsors will listen.

Wonderful piece. I too am fed up with the crap on the news and the reality stuff, then get to thinking.....guess it's because I'm not a hip senior, so I turn it off. Give me the old movies, some National Geographic, or a few good talk shows hosted by intelligent people. The networks crave digging dirt, cowtowing to the younger crowd who want the latest about their peers in show biz, the so-called peers who demonstrate it's okay to act like heathens in the public eye. TV and radio live for the best ratings, and thank goodness for the late night comics who really tell it like it is. I note CNN now has a piece at the end of their evening news called "Heroes," a short segment of people doing heartfelt things in this world. I'm in shock! Is there hope here? And let's not forget CBS and their Friday evening 3 minutes about wonderfully interesting people. Why not devote 6 minutes? Well, it's a start...maybe! Well done, Donald...Kathe
