A very difficult story to write, Fred, but I think it was good that you did so. Oprah Winfrey taught me something through a simple sentence she often repeats. "They did the best they could at the time." I think that applies to you. It wasn't a normal situation, and you did the best you could at the time.
I hope you can forgive yourself one day.

Fred, I'm so sorry for the pain you still experience to this day.

I'm going to post a story called Tippy.
It's a true story related to me by a dear friend.

Your dogs are waiting for you my friend.

Thankyou Michael for your kind remarks. I look forward to reading your story. As for Chris and Gypsy waiting for me, I know that is so. I was taught about living in the hereafter by a fellow named Freckles. (See MIDNIGHT VIST, Ourecho story ID #491.) I'm ashamed to face them. They deservedbetter than I gave them.

A heartbreaking story to write indeed, Fred. Rest assured that those two loving beauties are watching on high, for nobody can tell me our furry and feathered friends don't have special souls that understand more than we'll ever know.......Kathe

Oh, Fred, it has taken me awhile to get to read this. It just broke my heart, I wish I hadn't read it. I cried also. You poor man, I know how hard it is to loose a dear pet. Collies are one of my favorite dogs. I think they are just so beautiful. I have a friend with one, I love that dog. You did what you thought was right at the time, your certainly not thinking right at a time like that. Believe me God will let you see them both one day. Just be glad you had Chris for the time you did, and the fun you had with him.

I can see why that was a difficult story for you to write. One day, a long time from now, you will see them again, and they will greet you happily. BJ
