Hi Zofia,
Congratulations on winning this month's contest with your poem. It's a well-deserved honor.
I'm scared of lizards, so my reaction would have been very different from yours if that lizard had crawled into my kitchen! You held my interest to the very end, because I was so eager to find out how long the lizard stayed inside. Please post more writings soon for us readers to enjoy.
Blessings,
Sandi in FL.

(and by some trick of fate the word I must copy to post this comment is 'gigolo'.... how's that ? ;-) ....)

This is a wonderful piece about noticing the lizard's body language, eye contact, cocked head. Your comparison of how you treat the lizard and awareness of how you usually end relationships is brilliant. Congratulations on the well-deserved prize. Veronica Breen Hogle

A wonderful poem, at once humorous and thoughful, that tells a story in the real world and leads us into shared experience of the human heart.

I'm pretty bad at reading submissions in a timely manner, but your title should have grabbed me right off since I love animals. They are God's creatures as we. If only everyone would respect them as you, I believe this world would be a gentler one.

Love, LOVE your poem! What a clever parallel between the lizard in your house and a man you may let into your life! I was thoroughly entertained this morning while reading your entry and definitely understand why you're a winner with The Lizard...congratulations!
