I appreciate these "lessons," Wanda! None of us can ever get too many reminders. Isn't the English language a convoluted blast?! Often in my typesetting years we would be challenged by the customer about our grammatical edits, and we would have to back up our decisions with sources. Good training for my personal writing! Carol

Grammar reminders are always useful, no matter how well a person writes (or speaks). Thanks for the update on pronoun usage.

Oh Wanda, please, please give us a good down to earth lesson on commas with samples. If anything keeps me at bay with the editors, it'll be the commas for sure. Kathe

The books give the rule that a comma is added before "and" or other coordinating conjunctions when two independent clauses are joined. However, the comma isn't necessary if the sentences are short. Wanda
