A nice tribute Kathy. Probably the best thing Lyndon Johnson ever did was to marry Ladybird. She was a real asset to him all the years they were married.

Yes, she was a great gal. Too bad LBJ couldn't have been faithful to her, what with them being in the public eye. Some men will never learn and they seem to be the ones that have chosen really lovely wives. Go figure!! Thanks, Nancy.

Oh thank you, Kathy, for this tribute to Lady Bird! All my years in Central Texas I followed her activities and admired her from afar. She was a true southern lady Texan who enriched our state and our lives. Carol

Thank you, Carol! Texas can be proud to call her one of their own. Not too many "real" ladies around anymore. Well, except for me??? LOL Oh yeah, and you! :-)

Beautifully done, Kathy. A real lady she was. Her passion for flowery beauty across the nation endeared her to all, especially me. In fact, I almost forgot she was a died-in-the-wool democrat, teehee........Kath

Kathe, thanks for your comments. Yes, once Lyndon passed away I kind forgot she was a dem. too!:-)

Kathy, as you know, I don't look at ourecho much any more; so I almost missed this piece. Like all your things, this is well written. It's a lovely tribute to a lovely woman, like yourself, a Lone Star Lady.

Thank you for your nice comments! But, I'm just a transplant - she was the real thing. :-)
