Another great story Bonnie...Love your Dad's side of it...We all have fishing stories, and mine is the seagull that never got away...However thats another story...Thanks for this one and the wonderful memories it brought for me at my Grandmas in Nova Scotia...Thanks ... Big Hugs...Grizz

It's been a long, long time since I sat in front of my computer and had a good deep-down belly laugh as I did after reading this. I picture your Uncle Stan as being "quite the character". Yes, indeed.
I'm just glad nobody walked in as I was reading this hilarious anecdote....they'd o' thought I lost it for sure!

A character he was indeed. My mother was terrified I was going to be the biggest rebel that ever lived with Uncle Stan's outlook because I loved him so much.
I think she is partly right!!hahahaha

There's nothing better than a good fish story and this one was delightful! As for me I have hooked people, and I've been hooked. I think it's part of being initiated as a fisherman/woman. Ya think?
