Helen was one lucky woman. How could she keep from falling madly in love with such an incredible man? Fred didn't even know whether or not he had a chance with Helen, yet he bought a farm to keep her parents from losing their home? BJ

Yes, he did just that. Whether he did it to keep them from losing their home, or whether he did it out of his love for her, Mom and dad never said. He never said anyway. It was Mom who told of it. Dad never was one to boast about anything, except maybe his kids when they didn't hear it. As for his motives, my guess is that it was a little bit of both, because he spent his life helping other people.

I'm so glad I read this story, it was lovely. I'd have to agree that it was true love - they both gave up their dreams to make new dreams together!
