I enjoyed reading Kathe's first attempt to go grocery shopping with her new arm and baking her cake. I could just imagine icing everywhere. I also could feel her embarassment about the icing incident. She's top of the list at making cakes, etc. now. Love her making fun at herself. Millie Jones

Kathe,
How very funny ! This story puts me in mind of many "gaffes" I've had in the kitchen, and I have two arms, albeit weak, but useful.
You never fail to keep me mesmerized with your tales. Thank you so much for the great story !

Oh Kathe!! Is it ok to laugh?? It would be hilarious if a person wasn't dying of embarrassment at the time. We have a young granddaughter who had both feet amputated before she was two...complications from being on a life support for an extended time. She is dealing with artificial feet...so we have a little feel for all that is involved. I think you are an awesome lady!!

Kathe, I agree with that Safeway store manager...this canned frosting incident was just too priceless not to give it a good chuckle.
I literally laughed outloud!

Loved your story Kathe. Your ability to laugh at yourself through your writing is wonderful. Life's adjustments tend to open whole new vistas for us.

Take care dear friend,

Kathe, I couldn't help but feel your perplexity at the horror in the store, but also laughed myself silly. The thought of this gorgeous, ("and you are!") red head standing in the aisle thinking of slinking out the back exit did me in! Good going Kathe, loved it!

Kathe---
You must be a Newfoundlander at heart!! I almost died laughing as I pictured the scene with my weird sense of humor! In Newfoundland self-deprecatng humor abounds-that is what helps us survive this Rock within the Sea!! You are a gem in my life!
Wonderful to picture it all!
In Nursing we say "If you don't laugh-you cry!"---this was one of those times for you!
YOU GO GIRL!!
Bonnie.

Kathe, I have always enjoyed your writing; and I admire your grit and guts. But his story had me laughing out loud from beginning to end! I just had to read the chocolate frosting debachle to my husband, even though he is trying to "do business" at his desk. What a delightful, funny, courageous, spirit you are!

Good story Kath, I can just see you there with that new "hand" squeezing that can of frosting to death...haha
Aren't we glad we can laugh at ourselves..eventually.
Love, CM
