Hi Richard,
What a beautiful story...evoking numerous emotions and causing the reader to yearn for a happy outcome to Alex's parents' marriage.
I think more father-son outings would be beneficial in today's fast-paced world. Time is a valuable commodity, and spending it with a child is never a waste. They can teach us a lot.
Blessings,
Sandi in FL.

Hello Sandi,Thank you for your lovely comments. Sad to say, but my generation (I'm almost 65) grew up with, "Boys don't cry; fathers don't hug." Now I'm so glad my wife taught me it was so normal to do so with our children.

If only life were that simple.

We seem to live in a ME first world rather than a WE first world.

It's too bad that life is no longer that simple.
