Hi sis,
You told it just right, and after all these years, you can bet I've never forgotten the meaning of that big word. Amazing how such an incident added to my vocabulary as well as to my memory box. Every visit to the dentist conjures it back up for me!

Oh,how denistry has improved. I remember
the bowl with the swirling water and how terrified I was when I climbed into THAT chair.

How do they expect you to spit when your lips are numb? It's impossible. I thought expectorate was a medicine prescribed to get rid of your cough. Live & learn. Back to the Reader's "How to increase your word power" for me. A good old-fashioned southern word, spit.
