It will be hard for me to climb down from this soap box. As one of those women who had to deal with the “good old boy” method of management throughout my career, I thank you for speaking out. I was mentor to many trainees, mostly male. Once they were trained, I watched them step around me to climb the ladder to the top of that pay scale, not because they were more qualified than me, but because they were men who needed to support their families. No one takes into consideration all the women out there who have been left alone to care for theirs. Oh how I could go on, but I better hop off this box now or this will turn into a rant and not a comment. Thanks again! BJ

Thanks for your comment. You of course should not have had to endure the "good old boy" treatment, and I sympathize very much with you for having to do so. Hopefully, if you and others tell your stories and speak out against it forcefully, others may be spared from it.
