I think what struck me most in every part of Howard's book was that he was so accepting of all that occurred, all the moves and whatever happened at each place. A good lesson for others who get totally frustrated when things aren't perfect. The other thing was his knack for remembering dates when things happened. This entire series of postings was most interesting. Thank you for sharing.

He was not quite as accepting as his narrative makes it seem. Some things he was not accepting of and tried in his own way, to change them. He did from time to time, make his displeasure known and tried to get them changed, and did succeed with some. There were times he was hard headed, until he understood why things had to be the way they were. He was always aware of his limitations, as well as the limitations of others who tried to do things for the better, on his behalf, and he appreciated the efforts others made.

As for his phenominal recall of dates, you are absolutely right and I have been amazed at that more than once.

Fred, I wish I could thank Howard Reidy himself for writing about his life, but I'll thank you in his stead. Howard was indeed a special man. No matter his circumstances, he enjoyed life. BJ

No need to thank me. Howard wanted his story to be told. As a friend of his, I felt I could do no less than make it available to people to read. Because Howard was the man he was, I also wanted to tell people about this remarkable man, and bring at the very least, the travails of those who have to live under the system of bureaucracy to light.

Howard was indeed a remarkable man. He seemed to take everything in stride, and it all had left him with something to write about. I would have liked to have met him. He seemed very well able to take care of himself, and his surroundings.
