What a bummer of a trip! And lost luggage on top of everything else. I'd have been a raving lunatic I'm afraid. :-) Sounds as if you took it all in stride - good for you.

Getting all upset wasn't going to change a thing. I think I was more disappointed than angry at that point. Finally got my luggage back today when I arrived in Kansas City. I sure was glad to see it. Best part was everything in it was still clean. :)

I once had to deal with airline employees after missing a connecting flight in Atlanta. I believe interesting is an interesting choice of words. At least you got to visit family. BJ

Right about the good of visiting family. All bad things have some good, even if you have to look hard to see it.

Don't feel to bad, Nancy. I know you looked forward to meeting those other people even more than walking the banks of the Patomac, and the Patomac will be there a long time. For that, you may have another chance. I have learned throughout my life that when things like that happen, there is usually a reason. You may never learn what the reason is, but had you been there, something might have happened that will make you thank the Lord you missed out on.

Hi Fred,

I agree with you that sometimes we are meant to be somewhere because of factors that we are unaware of. Actually, I had a most interesting conversation with a young soldier on my flt today. Our paths would never have crossed if my trip had gone as scheduled, and somehow I think he and I needed to have the conversation we did.

After reading what Fred had to say, I think I must agree with his analysis of "Cancelled." What a difference a minute, or even a day makes, for any number of things might have befallen you were you able to connect. Methinks the angels were around somewhere.....I'm so glad you're home safe. Kath

Hi Nancy,

How disappointing for you. I hope another opportunity to meet your co-writers comes your way. And, they lost your luggage, to boot!

I thought your essay was written well and I enjoyed reading it.

Ashley,

Thanks very much for your comment. I did finally get my luggage back, even though I doubted I'd ever see it again.

Thank you. Yes, it was a big disappointment, but when things happen there is usually a reason, even if it isn't evident. That's how I've tried to look at it.
