I read this smiling and nodding my head in agreement, as I am also a grandmother who delights in the spread-out visits of grandchildren. They are such treasures, and every moment is to be savored as sweetly as the tea served in your delicate china cups. Thanks for a nice story.

Susan, I loved the story! I am blessed in that my only grandchild lives just minutes away from me, so we have bonded right from his birth. I can't imagine having a long distance relationship with him, but I know life being what it is, not everyone has a choice in this matter. Your grandchildren will remember the times with their Grammy and the memories will always be there. As the saying goes, it's quality, not quantity (although quantity works well too!). Keep writing!

Thanks, Maria, for your encouragement to keep writing. It's fun to string words together and make sentences about things we love, and I do believe grandchildren take the cake! You understand that because of your precious grandson! Thank you very much for leaving me a comment about this story...Susan

I could just see those little gals manhandling your teacup! A delightful story - I felt like I was right there.

Dear Susan,
It's so delightful to read about your "grand-angels" since I've met them and know a lot about them. Mama would be pleased that you didn't get upset about the way Katherine and Savannah grabbed those delicate tea cups and marched into your living room carrying them! It would remind her of the time my daughter grabbed a breakable flower vase at her home and accidentally dropped it. Later you informed me that our sweet Mama didn't allow that incident to mar her time with one of her young grandchildren! Reminds me of the adage: "The best things in life are not things."
You've penned another fine family remembrance, and I'm grateful that you've shared it with others. Parents and grandparents will readily identify with the warm feelings of having one's family members near, for they are so dear to our hearts.
Love you, sweet sis,
Sandi.
