I would like to comment on the story Sara, anywhere, all states USA.
First and foremost I'd like to thank Fred for printing it as a reminder of what happens to kids every day, and how they need our help.
We get busy with our lives and turn a away from situations that could be the life of a child, animal or senior being abused.
I would know first hand, because I spent 18yrs as an only child living with two very abusive closet Alcoholics.
I moved out of the apartment after graduation at age 18 to find my own way in the world.
I had been beaten, sexually abused and mentally abused until I could leave my parents apartment.
The reason children do not ask for help is the fear they have with trusting another adult with their secrets.
If this adult fails in thier attempt to resue this child, then the parents once again gain control and the abuse and punishment is worse than before.
There are many children out there that need help please notice and if you can help and follow through. you could be saving a life that years down the road may save yours.
I'm in medicine and one of your writers as well....Thank you Fred for printing your story, having awarness and caring enough about people to print it.

It really makes no difference whether the poem is true or not. As the mother of an ex-sheriff son, and a social worker daughter, I know this poem to be mild compared to what really goes on in this country. It's too shocking for words, and I admire your bringing abuses of all sorts to our attention, Fred. You're such a lovely champion for the good of all animals and mankind. Thanx.....Kath

Well Fred, you know how I feel about this, it makes me cry and I know it goes on all over the world every day. We just have to do alot of praying for these lost souls.

When I first went to work in the Circuit Clerk's office, I was shocked at how much abuse there is in this small community. Everyone should be watchful of our youth. If we suspect, we should act. BJ
