Congratulations on winning Our Echo's monthly award for your heartfelt, beautiful, poignant poem. You deserve the "trophy", and hopefully this will encourage you to write and post more of your wonderful poetry. One phrase in this poem is haunting: 'constant despair'. It speaks volumes to anyone who has ever been in a similar situation, even though there is no excuse for abuse. It's good to know that you're an overcomer and have healed emotionally from many things in your past.
God bless you,
Sandi in FL.
