Very, very nice. Sadly, we never seem to appreciate what we have until it's no longer there.

Thanks for the sweet memories, I loved watching my grandmother cook. So many memories.

I had tears in my eyes at the end. Like most of us, I too waited too late to tell my mother and grandmother how much I loved and appreciated them. These last few years I've felt my mother's presence. I think she's realized my regret, and is telling me she knows, and is proud of my accomplishments. Carol

Oh those thoughts of "one more day" I've had my share. Today could be my last and what would I remember most? What would anyone else remember most about me? Well written, good story! CJ

What a touching story. I think your Grandma knows. I spent a lot of time with my grandmothers, but never met my grandfathers. They had passed before I was born. My job on Saturdays was to clean for one of them--alternating homes. My mother's mother would always make Tomato Soup and P&J sandwiches. My Dad's mother served Sunday dinner: Baked Ham and all the trimmings. I can still remember how they both smelled. Strange how some memories never quite leave us. THanks again for sharing. Janet
