Being an ole "sweetie" for animals I almost cried, girl! THANK YOU for seeing and then for sharing that as with a 'sculpture', you could see what potential was inside! A gift, indeed!

Goodness grasious, Kathe-Missy Sweet Pea sure is a darlin'. Isn't it just wonderful when our "children" are given the aclaim they deserve. As usual your story is the bestest.

Thanks for your comments on Almond eyes. Loved your donkey story. Please read The Beauty in the Silver Coat. I think you will enjoy it. Thanks. Veronica Hogle, Buffalo, NY

Kathie, I love the play on words here: "I seriously doubt Sweet Pea will ever forget to 'Remember the Lord in her everyday braying.'" Beautiful story. Very clever ending. I hope you will remember though. I love donkeys. We had one donated at a camp where I worked with children. She had a razor back that made it uncomfortable to ride her, but she was the most adorable long-ears I'd ever met. She had a perfect cross on her withers and down her back. Thanks for sharing. Janet

Thanx Janet. My big mammoth donks were my passion, and my last three still are. That perfect cross down their backs and across their withers signifies only one thing you know - what did Mary ride to Bethlehem?

Yes, I was aware of that story. Not sure if it was true. I also know that Christ rode into Jerusalem "on the colt of an ass" but it was white. Not sure if the cross is a part of that picture, but it certainly was a thing He looked toward knowing it was to come. Thanks for writing back. Janet
