Sometimes we just have so much ourselves, it is hard to even think of people like Jack. We all know who told Jack to walk so far for help. Well written Jim. As ever, Gail

Thank you, Gail. Obviously, I haven't stopped thinking about that day and the conflict within myself.

Don't forget for a momoment, as unfortunately, many of us do forget, Jesus the Christ said that even as you do it to them, you do it to him. I'm sure this incident was not exception.

Good story, Jim. Your writing made it come alive and let me see Jack very well.

Nancy, Thank you. I wrote the story a few years ago and re-wrote it today. It feels good to believe that you're improving as a new writer.

I'm glad you're working on old stories. It's fun to rewrite them and see them improve. Means we're growing as writers, and isn't that what it's all about?

Jim, as I read your story I thought of the good samaritan, and I thank GOD for people like you, for as we reach out to help others, we are blessed in many ways.

Jack obviously lurks inside your brain with the change of seasons and holidays until, alas, you let him out for a brief time for us all to meet. He sounds typical of the many homeless on our streets as you so vividly portrayed. Great release, Jim, but I'll bet you haven't heard the last of Jack. Kathe Campbell
