Kathe - To me, this one is one of your defining moments in your writing. You've shared this rendering with me before, and I'm still humbled after reading it again.

Kathe,
I have read this story several times before. I never tire of reading it, and I never fail to marvel at your true grit. You are a great inspiration to all, and so by the way, is your story. God Bless You!

Hi Kathe,
I read your fawn story slower this time than I did previously. It really sunk in how that successful rescue effort was such a defining moment for you. I like what Fred said about your true grit, for indeed you do have it.
Love and blessings,
Sandi in FL.

What a wonderful account of coming back from a life-trial that would have defeated a lesser person. You have a beautiful granddaughter. Thank you for sharing. BJ

A wonderful story of how God works in mysterious ways!

I never tire of this story, which is so heart-tugging and so beautifully written, too. God has reached many people through you, I think. You've triumphed over a bad situation and been a fine example of courage and determination and just plain guts. You're the best!

Kathe, I think this story is my favorite of all I've read from you. It gives such a bond of helplessness turning to strenght and healing of your body and soul. Keep them coming Kathe.

Dear Kathe - I've read this before, but I struggle to keep tears in check each time I've seen it. You are a woman of great courage and intestinal fortitude! I would probably have curled up into a ball and just cried my life away. You picked yourself up, dusted yourself off and show us all how to keep on keepin' on. Thanks, dear friend.

Kathe this is not only a compelling story of determination and healing, but also a stunning description of one of the most beautiful places on earth. I fell in love with Montana on a visit this winter, and you have given me a taste of what it is like in summer. Thank you!

I don't have the time to read all the
many comments your story has elicited but I'm sure my comment will probably be similar to others. That despite nature causing you inestimable grief with the loss of your arm by a rogue donkey, your redemption came from rescuing a little fawn- knowing full well that an irate mother deer, not understanding your motives could do you more severe damage. Saving grace is truly the right title for your inspirational story. Thanx Kathe.

Kathe, I never tire of reading this story. It is indeed one of your best. One thing it does to any reader is make us aware of how lucky we are to have our health, and how we need to count our blessings every single day. You have overcome so many things and still end up being positive, encouraging, and inspirational. Congratulations on this story and I hope you win the Family Memories Writing Project with it.
Love, Maria

A wonderful story of courage. Such a brave act to free the fawn. I saw a mother doe whack her head against a fawn's side throwing her into the ditch, then taking off in the opposite direction. I picked up the fawn, thinking it was hurt, not realizing it was the doe's way to protect her child. When I picked up the little creature, it peed all over me. Thankfully the mother came to reclaim her child. All the best, from Richard L. Provencher

Ah Ah Ah....never touch a fawn. Yes, the mothers will do all sorts of strange things with their offspring in the face of danger. I found that out with a wolf on our place one day, an upcoming story. Thanx for your comments..Kath

Dear Kathe, your stories are always compelling reads...this one is wonderful and I could not get through it fast enough to discover what happened and why it was titled "My Saving Grace". Then I re-read it slowly, savoring each turn of a sentence, seeing in my mind's eye everything you described...beautifully written just as your life is a beautifully lived one, dear. ~ Susan Poole

Kudos on yet another well-earned, well-deserved award...winning the monthly prize for best post. Kathe, when are you going to put all your stories and remembrances into a book and get it published? I'll order a dozen copies, and you, my dear, will make Montana even more well known that ever before!
Blessings,
Sandi in FL.
