Very poetic prose, Gail. It made me smile. How wonderful when we see those first blooms after winter days. On the other hand...I went to Dillon's today to get the daffodils they'd advertised. Guess what? They were nothing but buds which wouldn't open for days, if at all. And I'd wanted to use them for a meeting here tomorrow morning. Spray painted green carnations will suffice, but the daffodils mean spring to me.

I spoke with my Dad in Kansas this week - he's excited about his "Naked Ladies" being up. I'm sure you know what those are...

Oh yes, mine are up about 6 inches. But the leaves show some freeze damage but that won't hurt the flowers that don't bloom until around middle of August. I have a large bed of them. Must get someone to take their picture when they bloom. Gail

Loved the description. From someone who is having a little trouble re-adjusting to cold winters, I would love to see such a beautiful sight as your crocuses peeking through the snow. BJ

Delightful story, Big Sis. Ah yes, those determined little flowers that reassure us spring WILL return! That's one thing I miss on the Texas Coast--brave flowers in the snow. Carol

Oh Grandma that just makes me want to plant a garden full of flowers and maybe even things to eat too. I can't wait to help with mom's memorial garden. I don't know when that is going to happen. I just know that it will.

Beautiful piece of writing, I too feel the joy on seeing the first flowers of Springtime. Well done, keep writing.
