Some nice visual imagery here Bonnie. I love your term "crystal carpet" It's most appropriate. Reminds one of the same effect with sunlight on water which makes it look like sparkling diamonds of light. I do agree with you, tho, about wearing sunglasses at all times. I wear them outside summer and winter. My mother had macular degneration, and I'd like to do all I can to prevent it happening to me. It's not much fun.

You wear your Newfie snow crystals and I'll wear my Montana snow diamonds and we'll both be idiots when it comes to our Skidoos that take us where few get to feed their souls on perfect winter days. Beautifully written as always. K

After only a short time outside in the snow, I find that I can't see for a few minutes after coming inside. The Iriqoi Indians who lived in the area I now live, used the bark of the white Birch with narrow slits cut in it to protect their eyes from snow blindness.

I felt like I was riding right along with you! Crystal carpet is the perfect description for sure. Loved the picture of the goggles - without the explanation I would NEVER have figured out what they were. :-)
