Mark,
What a poignant story, and thankfully, the ending is happy. It made me grateful and relieved that I did not have to go through the Great Depression when even salt was scarce for some folks. From now on I won't take it for granted the next time I fill my kitchen salt shaker to the brim.
Blessings,
Sandi.

You painted an excellent and moving picture of the "hard times" folks somehow managed to survive. Certainly makes us realize how fortunate we are...

Delightful story. Prayer works wonders.
