All I could say aloud to myself, as I came to the end of this Smokey story, was a mournful "Ohhh." That was one smart cat who endeared himself to your family members in a beautiful way, and you've written about it quite well, involving the reader so that we really care what happens to Smokey. Good job, Fred. ~ Susan in GA

Sweet story, Fred. Narratives great, descriptions great, just a teensy jerky and wordy here and there, but overall very nicely done. K

That was a dear story, I had a wonderful cat named Smokey who was about 30 lbs. He was so sweet, and loved everyone. He lived until he was about 18 years old. Your mom got a dear friend out of that. How considerate that Smokey was.

As a cat lover and having had cats throughout my life, this story resenated with me. I too let an aw-w out at the end.
