I know just what you mean about that car not quitting. I once owned a 1973 Dodge Dart. I payed $100 for mine. It had more miles than I knew, the front fenders were like swiss cheese. It was standard shift on the wheel and a 235 slant six engine. No matter how much I abused it, I could not kill that car. It was one tough little car and repaid me what I had paid for it many times over.

I had a Dodge Dart, too. Ken and I have been trying to figure out what year it was. It was either a '72 or '73, we think. I've had a lot of cars through our 42+ years of marriage, but that Dodge Dart was my favorite. I loved it! Nearly cried when Ken traded it in a few years later. Drove like a charm and never needed work other than regular maintenance. Mine was burgundy red on the bottom with a black top.

I'm also a victim of being in love with a vehicle. I drive a 1989 Chevy truck. I call her Betsy. As a traveling nurse, Betsy takes me from state to state, hospital to hospital. She never complains when we run into rain, sleet, snow and occassionally tornadoes. She has over 200,000 miles now but she is still going strong. I often hear, "You're a nurse, why are u driving that old truck?" I just smile and tell them that my new car is at home in the shop with computer problems.
