Having known Susan and here family throughout my married life, her story-picture brings home happy times with her as a school girl and the busy life of her father whose patients called on him night and day! A wonderful live story from "a heart filled with love!"

What a great history of your Valentine experiences. You are quite the romantic. For fun, I like to send a co-worker, friend, or boss who is 'difficult' to get along with a Valentine from 'Your Secret Admirer.'

Your writing is very warm. Veronica

Oh no not something else I can collect, I keep waiting for my side of the house to hollar "tilt". All kidding aside, I never thought about that. I do collect post cards though.

Susan, That Valentine story was great, and it ended in a way which was funny to you, but no laughing matter to your dad. I can just see you two going to all that trouble, and being so sneaky, all for the love of mom and dad.

Susan, This is too funny. I too, having known your family as I was growing up, can appreciate this valentine "scene". Knowing your Dad and his "stern" disposition, had my sides "splitting" in laughter as I pictured this "robust" man tangled in all the "frills"....as I also imagined your mom trying so hard to "contain" hers as well.....ps.I too remember the "shoe box" mailboxes!!! Thanks for the memories..Dannette

Thank you for sharing such wonderful memories. I hope your parents had the same good sense of humor as you and Sandi. You are a treasure.

To all who have left a comment here and to those who have emailed me at home, I send my heartfelt THANKS! I think Scott Lupo through Our Echo is doing us all a great service in providing an avenue for the memories we have stored to be expressed and shared. Shared with readers we already know and with friends we've not yet had the opportunity to meet. This Valentine's Day, I raise my cup of cherry Kool-aid to each of you as a toast to "more stories"! ~ Susan Poole

Well, I know for certain who the boy was with that buzzard card for you, but I promise not to tell...to protect the innocent! And as I remember it, the idea was YOURS to tape all that paper and other fancy stuff to Mama's and Daddy's bedroom door in the wee hours of that Valentine morning. You know I usually went along with your brilliant suggestions, and main thing I recall about this one was all the brown paper sacks we unfolded, cut, taped together, etc.! And the laughing - oh my! We chuckled longer and louder than we ever admitted to Daddy or even Mama! What fun we had as children. I'm so thankful for our happy childhood home.
Love you much,
Sandi.

W H A T??? Sandi, you know it was you who thought up the majority of things we pulled as children! TeeHee! We are so blessed to have been reared as we were...happiness was pervasive there on 104 Ridgecrest Road. Thank you, dear sis,for always being one of my greatest supporters. I love you ~ Susan

Girlfriend, I just read today your Valentine posting. Bringing so many memories and very funeeee about your dad getting up to answer phone.I can just imagine that scene. But, hey, did you not ever send/get any Comic Valentines? Oh how I remember those -
some I had just as soon forget.
Don't guess they market those any more.

Susan, what great memories. I could just imagine your father draped in Valentine's in the wee hours of the morn. I bet that was one Valnetine's Day that the whole family remembered for years. What a hoot!! Mattie
