My favorite stanza of your mother's poem here is the last one...the ending is strong and at the same time, so precious.
By the way, what is hot jam roly poly?
Sincerely,
Sandi in FL.

Hello Sandi in Florida,

Hot Jam Roly-Poly is pie pastry filled with a red berry jam, then rolled and made tight at the ends. It is baked in an over, sliced and served with custard. It was a dessert for poor people. Now it is served in some of the finest British Restaurants worldwide. Thanks for asking. Veronica

Thanks for sharing poetry, written by your mother. The hot jam roly poly must have been delicious, even the name tells us it was.
Best wishes. Kathleen Blanchfield.
