This is another great story about that great hubby of yours, Kathe. His will power and determination, coupled with your willingness to go on a diet with him, probably had a lot to do with the success rate for you both. Congratulations! Share more slices of your life with Ken, pretty please!
Love,
Sandi in FL.

I enjoyed reading this one again, Kathe. You do pen the most amazing creations of your life's experiences. This story is a keeper.

Your stories always shine with your love for Ken even when you just write his name. I liked this story because no matter what, you were always together. You and Ken were truly "in for a penny, in for a pound."

Bless you, Kathe, you even make losing weight sound like a possibility. Please note I wrote 'possibility', not probability or likely. The spark in your marriage sparkles through your writing. I believe you and Ken were a lucky, loving couple and that you keep his memory alive and laughing! Thanks.

Hysterical rendition of those dieting things we are plagued with!! I was off the chair again-gotta buy more duct tape I guess!!
That would never be the case with my 'darlin'-said with tongue in cheek-as he is as fit as always, but he darn well lets me know it and I am just contrary enough to just go eat ice-cream for spite. Something I should write up sometime hey???*lol* Nothing worse than someone who is 'holier than thou'--however there are many things I have mastered and he has not so I do not upset myself over that - rather take the attitude of Ken and do what I have to do!!
Marvelous story--and love shines through as it always does when you write about him. He knew he was loved that is a given!!
Love,
Bonnie.

Kathe, Another great one. As always I actually feel like I'm there silently listening on the side lines seeing it all happen. Good work Kathe. It may be cold in your neck of the woods, but we have had one scant ground covering of snow all winter w/50 plus degree weather. I have 11 different flowers budding, they're as confused as the weather, LOL! Keep the stories coming Kathe.

Kathe - I can certainly feel empathy with this one. Having been diagnosed with Diabetes in 2000 made for a mind-jarring lifestyle change that has been my ever constant companion over the past several years. I finally managed to lose fifty pounds by diet change and doing daily two mile walks either at the local athletic club or, weather permitting, outside, along our small community's walkways. The good news is that I don't have to wear a tuxedo to show off my weight loss and healthful well-being. The wife's occasional comment and the doctor's smile every three months are good enough for me.

Good for you. Strangely enough, Ken was diagnosed with rheumatoid and Diabetes 2 a few years after the weight loss, and it certainly was a huge lifestyle change. He couldn't get out and walk with his crippled feet, so diet was our answer for control. I say OUR because I was the cook.
